I play a Gibson L/P and a U.S.A Fender Strat and this is better than the Strat by a mile. First released in 1996, Squier's Jagmaster electric guitar combined design elements of the Fender Jaguar and Jazzmaster in one budget instrument. With simplified electronics, humbuckers, and a tremolo, the Jagmaster was initially made in Japan as a part of the Vista Series, but manufacturing even The Jagmaster I used to play at GC was a silver sparkle one with a black single ply pickguard. I'm thinking that the neck was 25.5" scale because it felt like a full sized guitar to me. Would a Jazzmaster neck fit on a Jaguar body without major adjustments in bridge location? After owning several Fender/Squier Strats, Teles and basses, after getting my first used '07 Squier Jagmaster off of Ebay, I love it.
